DRAKE IN THE MASTERING PROCESS FOR TAKE CARE
Late last week, pictures surfaced showing Drake in the process of mixing and mastering songs off his upcoming album, Take Care. As previously reported the rapper’s sophomore project will hit stores on his birthday, October 24th.
DRAKE SIGNS ON FOR CLUB PARADISE TOUR
According to AllHipHop.com, Drake has already kicked off a six-date outing for the Club Paradise tour. The Toronto native is being joined by Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar and will take the stage tonight (10/10) at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania. FANTASIA MIGHT LOSE LEADING BIOPIC ROLE?
According to the NY Post, a very pregnant Fantasia might be on the verge of losing the lead role in the upcoming biopic about gospel legend, Mahalia Jackson. Executive producer, Adrian Taylor revealed, “The [Jackson] family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia. They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.” In addition, filming has been pushed back until after she gives birth, which might cause the director to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Due to the delay, producers are considering replacing Fanny. We’ll keep you posted.
YELAWOLF REVEALS ALBUM COVER, SWITCHES LAUNCH
According to XXLMag.com, Yelawolf has released the artwork for his debut album, Radioactive. In addition, the Shady Records artist has pushed the project back from October 25th to November 21st. He explained in a statement, “I needed to add some important finishing touches to the album which resulted in the new release date.” He continued, “I have some surprises in store for the fans that have to be seen before the album comes out. It’s definitely worth the wait.”

RIHANNA TAKES SUBWAY TO HER OWN CONCERT
Wanna know how Rihanna arrived to her concert at London’s O2 Arena? According to PinkIsTheNewBlog.com, the pop princess was spotted taking a subway train to get to her concert in time. Ri Ri rode alongside other passengers and even took pictures when they recognized her. Here’s what one bystander had to say about her: “I was in Rihanna’s carriage on the Jubilee line. I didn’t really twig at first because you wouldn’t expect to see a superstar travelling so casually on the tube.” The spy adds, “But then me and my friend realized it WAS her. She was so cool and friendly and happy to pose for photos. I asked why on earth she was taking the Tube to her own concert. And she said she’d always wanted to go on the Tube and decided to do it as it was the first night of her tour.”
RIHANNA HAS A NEW BOYFRIEND?
According to Rap-Up.com, Rihanna is rumored to have a new man in her life. While overseas the singer was spotted with Dudley O’Shaughnessy, who is the model that co-stars in her video for “We Found Love.” In the pictures, the usually paparazzi-ready star was camera shy and shielded her face from photogs. Hmmm, looks like time will tell if this is in fact her new beau.
LUDACRIS DELAYS MIXTAPE RELEASE
According to his official Twitter page, Ludacris has pushed back the release date for his upcoming mixtape, 1.21 Gigawatts. Luda tweeted that the project, which was supposed to be released on October 12th, “will be worth the wait, trust!” The rapper delayed the tape so that he could add guest verses from Rick Ross and Meek Mill. Be sure to download 1.21 Gigawatts on it’s new release date, November 15th.

T-BOZ FROM TLC BATTLES BRAIN TUMOR?
We knew T-Boz from TLC suffered from Sickle Cell Anemia, but we had no idea that in her past, the singer also battled for her life, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. She recalled to CNN, “I started having headaches, but they were so frequent, something was wrong.” Luckily, a doctor was able to remove the tumor just in time and she’s had minor side effects since the surgery.

Is Snoop Dogg gonna be a sitcom star? Deadline.com reports that the rapper is on board to star as a father on an upcoming NBC sitcom written by Don Reo. Reo has written for the likes of Two and a Half Men, Everybody Hates Chris, The Golden Girls and more. Snoop has already starred in a bunch of movies and has reportedly been cast in the biopic The Legend of Fillmore Slim.

NICKI MIANJ LEAKS TRIBUTE SONG FOR MURDERED COUSIN
Following the death of Nicki Minaj’s cousin, Nicholas Telemaque, who was killed on July 4th, the fem-cee has released a tribute song titled “We Miss You.” While no arrests have been made just yet surrounding the shooting, you can check out the track via RapRadar.com now.

JAY-Z TO TAKE 40/40 CLUB TO LONDON
XXLMag.com reports Jay-Z has decided to expand his 40/40 nightclub overseas and partnered with British soccer star Ashley Cole to open The 40/40 Club London. Hova said in a statement, “I’m excited about working with Ashley and NVA Entertainment Group on a range of new projects and The 40/40 London is going to be the hottest place in town.” It’s not yet known when the new location will open.

J COLE PLANS TO DROP MIXTAPE BEFORE DEBUT LP
Fans are in for a treat! J Cole recently told Rap-Up.com that he plans to release a new mixtape before his debut effort hits stores. Cole compared the his latest to his last projects, The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights, saying, “I treated those like albums, this is going to be more of a true mixtape.” As previously reported, the Roc Nation artist’s first studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, lands on September 27th.

ADELE AND KATY PERRY SCORE BEST SALES OF 2011
According to Nielsen SoundScan, Adele’s 21 is the best-selling album of the year so far. The effort has sold over 2.5-million copies in the U-S since its release back in February. Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, comes in at number two with 1.5-million, and over 70 percent of that total was sold its first week, when it debuted at number one with over 1.1-million copies. Katy Perry has the highest selling single with “E.T.” shifting a whopping 4.1-million copies, while Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” is right behind, selling just over four-million copies.
