DISNEY’S EMPOWERING #DREAMBIGPRINCESS PHOTOGRAPHY CAMPAIGN TO BE EXHIBITED AT UNITED NATIONS HEADQUARTERS IN NEW YORK

Six-week showcase hosted by UNICEF, Girl Up and Disney will feature inspiring images from female photographers created to encourage kids around the globe to dream big

#DreamBigPrincess photos shared on social media generated 1 million likes and shares in just 5 days, enabling a $1 million donation from Disney to United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up program

Glendale, Calif. (Nov. 9, 2017) – Disney today announced that its series of empowering #DreamBigPrincess photographs will be going on display as an exhibit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City through the first week of January in collaboration with Girl Up and UNICEF, the UN Children’s Fund. The images captured by nineteen female photographers from fifteen countries showcase the inspiring stories of real-world girls and women, as part of Disney’s Dream Big, Princess initiative launched in 2016, which taps into the power of Disney Princess stories to encourage kids to follow their dreams.

“This initiative is about celebrating the positive impact of strong female role models, whether that’s Moana, Tiana or one of the amazing real-world subjects of the #DreamBigPrincess images. We’re thrilled with the response to the campaign and excited to partner with Girl Up, at the United Nations Foundation to showcase these powerful images to such an international audience,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media.

The display will feature the compelling images from the campaign’s award-winning photographers and their subjects, who have turned their dreams into reality. From the youngest ever speaker at the UN to a gold-medal-winning Chinese Paralympian, the founder of the first female cycling team in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, a teenage author of a STEM coding book for kids, and a young surf champion from Brazil, the images spotlight a diverse range of stories to connect with kids and families around the world.

As well as inspiring kids with positive images and the stories behind them, the campaign aimed to make a tangible difference for girls who face challenges in achieving their dreams, through a collaboration with Girl Up, at the United Nations Foundation. For each like or post of a #DreamBigPrincess photo during the campaign timeframe, Disney donated $1 to Girl Up to support girls’ leadership and empowerment. Since their release in August, the images have been liked and shared millions of times online, enabling Disney to donate $1 million to Girl Up.

“#DreamBigPrincess really caught the collective imagination and we are so grateful to everyone who liked, shared or created their own inspiring image to support the campaign,” comments Girl Up Director, Melissa Kilby. “The $1 million will help give thousands of girls around the globe the tools they need to achieve their goals and advocate on behalf of others.”

The campaign brought the #DreamBigPrincess message to life in a multitude of ways, including highlighting women who’ve achieved success in the face of adversity, young Girl Up Teen Advisors who’ve already helped make a positive impact on the world, and girls at play who illustrate the importance of imagination in childhood. Thousands of people also posted their own inspiring images using #DreamBigPrincess, a select number of which will be exhibited alongside the original photographs at the United Nations and supported by UNICEF, which works to protect children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. A core component is to advance gender equality and the rights of girls.

“Imagine a world where every girl follows her dream, and is safe, healthy, and can go to school,” said Paloma Escudero, Director of Communications for UNICEF. “It is our collective duty to help make this world a reality and empower girls to reach their full potential.”

In 2016, Disney launched “Dream Big, Princess”, a campaign that encourages kids everywhere to dream big by highlighting key story moments and the inspiring qualities that each Disney Princess showcases through her adventures, such as Merida’s bravery, Cinderella’s kindness or Tiana’s perseverance. While each princess has her own unique and admirable qualities, what they all have in common is resilience and an ability to triumph over adversity to make their dreams come true. The Dream Big, Princess content series, which runs across Disney TV and digital networks globally, brings together a host of empowered moments from beloved Disney movies with the stories of real-life young role models, who have dreamed big and achieved their goals to show kids what’s possible.

The exhibit is proudly presented by UNICEF, United Nations Foundation Girl Up, and Disney, and co-hosted by the Permanent Missions of Brazil, Germany, India, and Kenya. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The supernatural thriller follows five medical students obsessed with what lies beyond the confines of life. They embark on a daring experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. Also experiencing the chilling consequences of exploring the one line that should never be crossed are James Norton (“War & Peace”),
Kiersey Clemons (Justice League) and Kiefer Sutherland (the original Flatliners).

The bonus content for FLATLINERS on digital, Blu-ray and DVD includes two behind-the-scenes featurettes.
“Just What the Doctor Ordered” catches the cast and crew reflecting on working with Director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), Dead Man Down), along with an interview from Niels on his directing style and vision. In “The Ultimate Question,” the cast and crew decide whether or not they would flatline if they could and offer the revealing reasons behind their decisions.

The FLATLINERS digital and Blu-ray releases are loaded with additional exclusive bonus material, including deleted and extended scenes, plus two more behind-the-scenes featurettes. Synopsis:

Five medical students, hoping to gain insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment. By stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience. As the investigation becomes more and more perilous, they are forced to confront the sins of their pasts, as well as contend with the supernatural consequences of trespassing to the other side.

Season Two Again Hails From Executive Producer and Showrunner Ken Biller,

Production Has Begun in Europe on 10-Episode Anthology Series

(WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 2, 2017) National Geographic and Fox 21 Television Studios, along with Imagine Television today announced the key cast joining previously announced Antonio Banderas in the second season of the Emmy-nominated anthology series GENIUS. The new cast is highlighted by Alex Rich (“GLOW,” “True Detective”), who will share the title role with Banderas, playing a young Pablo Picasso, one of the 20th century’s most influential and celebrated artists. Production begins this month and will shoot in cities all over Europe for the 10-episode anthology series. The new season, from Fox 21 Television Studios, will again be executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment, Madison Wells Media’s OddLot Entertainment and EUE/Sokolow, and will premiere in 2018.

Joining Rich are Clémence Poésy (“Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire,” “In Bruges”) as Francoise Gilot, a French painter and best-selling author whose decadelong affair with Picasso yielded two children; Sebastian Roche (“Young Pope”) as Emile Gilot, Francoise’s tyrannical father; Robert Sheehan (“Fortitude,” “Misfits”) as Carlos Casagemas, a Spanish art student and poet who was one of Picasso’s closest friends; Poppy Delevingne (“Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword”) as Marie-Thérèse Walter, a lover and muse of Picasso, who mothered his first daughter; and Aisling Franciosi (“Game of Thrones,” “The Fall”) as Fernande Olivier, a French artist and model who Picasso painted more than 60 portraits of.

Several cast members from the first season of GENIUS will return to the franchise, including Samantha Colley (“The Crucible”) as Dora Maar, a French photographer and painter who was also Picasso’s lover and muse; T.R. Knight (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Catch”) as Max Jacob, one of Picasso’s first friends in Paris; Seth Gabel (“Salem”) as Guillaume Apollinaire, one of the foremost poets of the 20th century and a frequent collaborator with Picasso; and Johnny Flynn (“Lovesick”), as French actor Alain Cuny.

“Working with a repertory company of versatile actors playing different roles in different seasons of a show has long been on my professional bucket list. To that end, bringing together many of our original GENIUS cast with an impressive roster of new international actors to tell the rich and provocative story of Pablo Picasso is truly a thrill,” said Ken Biller, executive producer and showrunner, who will also direct the first episode.

The artistic career of Pablo Diego Jose Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Crispin Crispiniano Maria Remedios de la Santisima Trinidad Ruiz Picasso spanned more than 80 of his 91 years, much of it in his second home, France. Much like the subject of the first season of GENIUS, Albert Einstein, Picasso imagined and interpreted the world in totally new and unorthodox ways, and constantly reinvented our perceptions of art and creativity. The prolific artist generated an estimated 50,000 works, among the most notable being “The Old Guitarist” from his Blue Period, now on display at the Art Institute of Chicago; “Guernica,” inspired by the Nazi bombing of a small Spanish town of the same name, recently displayed at the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid; and “Les Demoiselles D’Avignon,” now on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Picasso’s passionate nature and relentless creative drive were inextricably linked to his personal life, which included tumultuous marriages, numerous affairs and constantly shifting political and personal alliances. He lived most of his life in the vibrant Paris of the first half of the 20th century and crossed paths with writers and artists including Coco Chanel, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Gertrude Stein, Georges Braque and Jean Cocteau. Picasso constantly reinvented himself, always striving to innovate and push the boundaries of artistic expression.

Showrunner, executive producer and writer Biller continues his role overseeing the new season. The second season will also once again hail from Fox 21 Television Studios, whose recent “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” dominated every awards contest and critics’ list; Imagine Television, the producer of “24” and “Empire,” with executive producers Grazer and Howard along with executive producer Francie Calfo and producer Anna Culp; and Madison Wells Media’s OddLot Entertainment, which earlier this year produced the Academy Award-nominated film “Hell or High Water,” with executive producers Gigi Pritzker and Rachel Shane. Sam Sokolow and Jeff Cooney from EUE/Sokolow are also executive producers.
