T.I. POSTS ANGRY LETTER FROM PRISON

T.I. is currently serving his 11 month sentence for violating the terms of his probation, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. The rapper posted on his official website that he’s “sick and motherf***ing tired of going to jail.” Here’s what Tip wrote in his angry letter:

“This experience is truly a pain I have never felt before and that’s saying a lot for a n***a who’s been down locked up as many times as I have. I see this as a real ass whoopin’. The kind you don’t just go back outside to play afterwards. You take ya ass to bed and don’t come out of your room until it’s time to go to school. I don’ t know what effect this will have on my life moving forward but I’m certainly sick and mother f*cking tired of going to jail, juve, prison, the pen, correctional facilities or whatever else you want to call it. I’d have been better off doing a 5-10 year bid one time than going in time and time again for days, weeks and months for the last 15 years of my life. Even though it’s been a long road, I’m still standing, barely but nevertheless still standing. At one time I thought my motivation for continuing was for my fans, my partna Philant, my pops, my grandmamma, even for the haters or the people I let down. But nah… I got to do this shit for me!!! I’ll be God damned if I’ve come all this way and made it through so much hell to let it go down like this! F*ck that! If an hour in the dark is worth a second in the sun then pass me my mother f*ckin’ shades cause I’m ready to cash my darkest hours in…ASAP!!! A lot of folks had fathers or father figures in the house to raise them into manhood. I’m not trying to make any excuses for my situation but my father was a hustler that lived in New York. My uncle was a local big time dope boy turned 10 year federal inmate. My mother and grandparents did the best they could but I found my manhood in the trap and in prison systems. But I found it. And nan one of mine will ever have to feel the cold tight grip of a handcuff or grace the presence of a jail cell if I can help it. Over my dead body! So if you can’t respect that you ain’t rocking with my movement then Fuck you dog! I know a bunch of mother f*ckers who are…..”

THE 2010 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS
The 2010 American Music Awards took place last night live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The show wasted no time getting started, as Rihanna kicked off what was an amazing night of music television.  Performers included P!nk, Miley Cyrus, Bon Jovi, the Black Eyed Peas, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and many more.  And a lot of those same artists took home awards too. Bieber was the big winner of the night, winning four total, including the trophy for Favorite Artist of the Year.  The young Canadian’s mentor Usher also had a fine evening – he performed his song “DJ Got Us Falling in Love Again” and also won two awards. Here’s a complete play-by-play of what happened at the show, as well as a list of all the winners.  An audio feed from the American Music Awards is in the “Special Feed” section of our web site at www.westwoodone.com

·       The 2010 American Music Awards had arguably one of the best line-ups ever assembled for an award’s show, and they didn’t waste any time getting started.  Rihanna kicked things off in a very revealing outfit with a medley of her songs “Love The Way Your Lie,” “What’s My Name” and “Only Girl (In The World).”
·       Heidi Klum then took the stage to present the award for Favorite Solo R&B Album.  It was won by Usher, who got a hug from Justin Bieber before accepting his AMA.
·       Jenny McCarthy and John Legend presented the next award for Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group.  The Black Eyed Peas were named the winners, and all four members went on stage to accept their AMA, and each took their time at the mic to give thanks.
·       Eric Stonestreet and Rico Rodriguez of Modern Family then came out to introduce Enrique Iglesias who performed his song “Tonight (I’m Loving You).”  He was then joined by a marching band, as well as rapper Pitbull, for their hit “I Like It.”
·       Enrique and Pitbull were immediately followed by Miley Cyrus, who slowed it down to sing “Forgiveness and Love,” surrounded by burning red candles.
·       Diddy – Dirty Money were the next performers.  Backed by a full orchestra, they had the crowd waving their hands from side to side for “Coming Home”
·       Jessica Alba then revealed the nominees for Favorite Country Female.  Taylor Swift was named the winner, graciously thanked her fans, and wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
·       Samuel L. Jackson then introduced Kid Rock, who sang a stripped down version of his new single “Times Like These.”
·        Christina Milian and Johnny Weir announced the winner of Favorite Latin Artist, Shakira, who wasn’t on hand to accept her award.
·       The Black Eyed Peas then performed their newest single “Time of My Life,” off of their forthcoming album The Beginning.  It featured individual see-through boxes that would take the group up and down off the floor, and dancers with boxes covering their heads.
·       A children’s choir then accompanied a more-covered-than-usual Katy Perry in a flowing red dress for her song “Firework.”  But in the middle of the song, Katy ripped off her gown to show off a more revealing one-piece.
·       Taio Cruz, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz then hit the stage to announce the nominees for Favorite Solo R&B Female, which was won by Rihanna, who slapped Nicki on the rear before leaving the stage.
·       Willow Smith then introduced Justin Bieber who performed “Pray.”  The teenage sensation started out on the piano before getting up and being joined by a gospel choir.  Usher looked on admiringly from the audience while Biebs was doing his thing.
·       Mandy Moore and Sheryl Crow presented Brad Paisley with the award for Favorite Country Male.
·       Bon Jovi then played a medley of their most famous songs, as well as their new single “What Do You Got?”  The greatest hits from the New Jersey rockers included “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “It’s My Life,” as the crowd was up and grooving along with the band.
·       Natasha Bedingfield announced Justin Bieber as the winner of the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award.  Biebs thanked his fans and said that the trophy “means the world” to him.
·       A svelte Kelly Osbourne introduced mommy-to-be P!nk, who sang her brand new single “Raise Your Glass.”  The pop star didn’t let her pregnancy affect her live show, as she still moved around with her signature flair.  She also had The Dan Band join her on stage.
·       Ne-Yo then performed a few tracks off his new album Libra Scale, including “One in a Million” and “Beautiful Monster,” interwoven with video footage on the big screen behind him.  During his set, Ne-Yo managed to get his shirt ripped open by one of his dancers, and ended the whole thing with an impressive back-flip.
·       Taylor Swift then got arguably the biggest ovation of the night when she was lowered down to the stage on a floating white piano, singing her song “Back to December.”
·       Julianne Hough and Keri Hilson then announced the winner of the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Male to Justin Bieber.  It gave the young Canadian his second on-screen trophy of the night.  Bieber took some time to thank Michael Jackson, saying that without the King of Pop, “none of us would be here.”
·       Christina Aguilera performed “Express” from her forthcoming film Burlesque, along with an elaborate dance routine with the stage was set up to look like a set from the movie.
·       The stars of Castle, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, announced the winners of the award for Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group.  The trophy went to Lady Antebellum, their first AMA.
·       Usher took to the stage to sing “DJ Got us Falling in Love Again,” all while doing one of his impressively choreographed dance routines with what must have been around 30 dancers.
·       Mike Posner and Avril Levine announced the nominees for Favorite Alternative Artist.  The winner was Muse, giving the band their first American award.
·       Train sang their new ballad, “Marry Me,” before quickly transitioning to arguably the biggest hit of their long career, “Hey, Soul Sister.”
·       The Band Perry announced the winner of the award for Favorite Adult Contemporary – Michael Buble.  It was the Canadian’s first AMA and he said that he “loves winning things,” before thanking his fans and his fiancé.
·       The stars of No Ordinary Family, Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz, said that Ke$ha would be the next performer.  The pop star hit the stage in a futuristic-looking costume for a bit of her tune “Take It Off.”  She then sang her current single, “We R Who We R” while strumming on an electric guitar.
·       Guitar legend Carlos Santana took the stage with Gavin Rossdale to perform their version of T-Rex’s “Bang a Gong (Get It On).”
·       Lady Antebellum, who already won an award earlier in the night, announced the winner of the award for Favorite Solo R&B Male Artist – Usher, who won his second trophy of the night and his sixth AMA overall.
·       Ryan Seacrest came out to announce the winner of Favorite Artist of the Year.  The American Idol host revealed that Justin Bieber would be taking home the trophy, making him the youngest winner ever.  It was also Bieb’s third on-screen win tonight, and fourth overall.  Justin invited Usher on stage to accept the award with him, saying that he’s not only his mentor, but his best friend and big brother as well.
·       Wrapping up the show was a joint performance from New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys.  They went through a big part of both group’s respective catalogs, singing “Backstreet’s Back,” “I Want It That Way,” “Step by Step,” “Right Stuff” and “Larger Than Life,” and even managed to break out some classic dance moves too.
