Justin Timberlake’s annual benefit concert, Justin Timberlake and Friends, a
Special Evening Benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children, raised over
one-million dollars on Saturday night.  It marks the third year in a row the
event has raised over one million dollars to provide additional funds that
help support Shriners Hospitals For Children, which provide medical services
for children around the country.  The concert featured performances from
Christina Aguilera, Elton John, Salt-N-Pepa, Diddy, Selena Gomez and T-Pain.
Timberlake also performed a set including a soulful solo acoustic version of
“Cry Me a River,” which blended into Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
Keeping the vibe mellow and intimate, he stayed seated on a stool with just
his guitar and picked his way through “What Goes Around…/…Comes Around”
with plenty of help from the audience before busting into a full-band
version of “Rock Your Body.”

phenomenon took to Twitter to announce the record will hit shelves on
November 23rd.  The crooner has previously hinted that the record will

releasing the acoustic album, Bieber also dished in September that he’s
working on a follow-up to My World 2.0, slated to drop near the end of next
year. The untitled album will also include a contribution from fellow
Canadian hitmaker, Drake.

More strange news from the Beastie Boys. The group said their Hot Sauce
Committee Pt. 1 album would be delayed indefinitely, but that we’d get Pt. 2
by spring 2011. Now the tracklist for Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 features
tons of songs from Pt. 1! Confused? MCA, a-k-a Adam Yauch, says the band has
“come full circle” and that only one song from the original album didn’t
make it. The record features collaborations with Nas and Santigold and is
due out next year.

queens” of YouTube.

Find out who made the top 10 mc list of 2010, voted by MTV Roundtable… Do you agree or disagree with the list?

Kanye West is back and so is the controversy that seems to never leave his
side.  This time the singer has a new album coming out called My Beautiful
Dark Twisted Fantasy, and let’s just say the title owns up to its name,
starting with the album cover, which leaves little to the imagination. The
cover art shows a man in the nude, holding what seems to be a bottle of
alcohol, and being straddled by a naked Phoenix. We caught up with Kanye,
who explained why he chose this particular work of art.

“I love characters in general, but just how colorful the bird is
and just the design, it’s just something I would have picked or drawn as a
five year old.”

Kanye explained that the cover art is a metaphor for his life.

“It definitely relates to everything I’ve been through, like
burning to the ashes, and rebuilding, and becoming a better person, and then
delivering better product.”

Kanye West told MTV News that his songs “Devil in a New Dress” and “Monster”
will be featured on his My Dark Twisted Fantasy album, which comes out on
November 22nd.

The track listing is up for Kid Cudi’s second effort, Man on the Moon II:
The Legend of Mr. Rager. The album includes 17 tracks and features
collaborations with Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo Green, GLC, Nicole
Wray and more. Man on The Moon II drops November 9th. Check out more and

A party promoter is suing rapper T.I. over a planned Welcome Back Party that
T.I. failed to attend when he was released from prison. The rapper has
already stated that he couldn’t go to the bash because he was under home
confinement, but the Alabama party promoter says he was never told Tip
wasn’t going to show-up. The man is suing the rapper for misrepresentation,
conspiracy, unjust enrichment and more. He’s also asking for an unspecified
amount for his trouble.

Kelis is continuing to expand her well-rounded career with a foray into

Although the winner of Hottest MCs In The Game was crowned this weekend, we
just wanted to give a special shout out to Nicki Minaj, who became the first
female to make the list! The Young Money princess was given the number six
spot by MTV because of her “game-changing features and over-the-top-image”
and we love her for that. Keep updated on Minaj over at and make
sure to pick up Nicki’s album, Pink Friday, on November 22nd.

Missy Elliott has been working hard as a producer for both Jazmine Sullivan
and Monica, but now, she’s ready to drop her own new single. The MC caught
up with MTV News recently and said that she has plans to release a new song
called “Blow Your Whistle” soon and that it will have an accompanying crazy
music video. Elliott didn’t reveal exactly when we can expect the dance
track, but promised it’ll make people move their feet. Hit up
for more.

The memorial for underground rapper Michael “Eyedea” Larsen has been

U2 have confirmed that Danger Mouse is producing their new album and that
he’s worked on at least 12 tracks for the new effort, but he’s not the only
one collaborating with the Irish band. Bono also said that they’ve got a
club album in the works as well, which they are working on with,
David Guetta and producer RedOne. That album will “recall U2 remixes in the
1990s.” U2 aim to have a new album out by May of 2011.

Time magazine has created the top 20 current Halloween costumes for 2010.
Number 12 on the list is “Kanye West’s Twitter Feed.”  What you need: a
fresh suit, preferably fluorescent red or orange, a dinner plate size gold
medallion, a gold goblet, a turquoise chalice, fur pillows and a horse
worthy of a king.  Since Kanye joined Twitter in June, he has gained over
1.4-million followers with lofty Tweets like: “Hotel bathrobe got be feeling
like a king!”  So you can honor Kanye by dressing as the items he writes
about on Twitter.  Other current Halloween costumes include: the Old Spice
guy, Levi Johnston for Mayor, Lady Gaga in a meat dress, Jersey Shore cast,
a “Na’vi” from Avatar and Lindsay Lohan in jail.

Jay Sean and Nicki Minaj teamed up for his single, “2012 (It Ain’t The
End).”  The British crooner told us the song is about the conspiracy theory
that the world will end in the year 2012.  Jay doesn’t believe the theory,
but said it reminded him to take time to enjoy life.
“2012 (It Ain’t The End)” is up five spots this week to number 35 on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart.  Jay Sean’s new album, Freeze Time, which features
Pitbull, Birdman and more, arrives in stores on November 2nd.

Last week, Comedy Central hosted a telethon called Night of Too Many Stars,
during which Chris Rock and Tracy Morgan spoofed Simon & Garfunkel, with
some help from Paul Simon.  During the skit, the pair attempted to sing
“Scarborough Fair” but struggled.  Paul tried to help but the two weren’t
interested, instead choosing to use auto-tune and telling Simon “the lyrics
are bulls**t.”  In turn, Paul rapped Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice.”  The
hilarity was all for a good cause since the special raised money for autism
education.  Check out a clip by searching YouTube for “Tracy and Chris

*       George Clooney, Jimmy Fallon, Robin Williams, Tina Fey, Ricky
Gervais, Stephen Colbert, Betty White, Larry David, David Letterman and many
others also appeared on the special.

Shakira has released her new album, Sale el Sol (The Sun Comes Out).  The
first single off the effort is “Loca,” featuring U-K rapper Dizzie Rascal.

Missy Elliott “Works” Her Disappearing Act

Written by Rosario Harper

Hip-hop icon Missy Elliott has explained why her abscence from rap’s spotlight has worked in her favor as of late.

“People always be like, ‘Where [you] been?’ but you gotta remember, I got Jazmine Sullivan out there, I had Monica ‘Everything [To Me’],” Missy explained in an interview. “I’m always having artists that I’m doing records on so I’m just behind the scenes right now. I did the artist thing, now I’m just writing and producing…It’s been a long time coming but she gon’ be around for a long time. She’s gon’ make people have to step up they singing…Jazmine sing from the soul. She sing from a different place. She’s not just a singer, she sings from a place where you feel like she been through those things before. And she got a husky voice and we haven’t heard that really in R&B in a long time so she [has] a unique voice.” (MTV)

She is reportedly working on a new record called “Blow Ya Whistle.”

Lately, Missy E has been busy producing records for other artists, the latest one being Jazmine Sullivan’s ‘Holding U Down’ but here’s some good news for the fans. She will be finally returning to the scene with her brand new single called ‘Blow Ya Whistle’. Apparently, her album is still titled Block Party. (Hip Hop N More)

The rapper’s delayed album was initially scheduled to drop three years ago.

Block Party is the upcoming seventh studio album by American rapper Missy Elliott, scheduled to be released in 2010. The album’s release was initially intended for December of 2007, additional songs were recorded for the project in spring of 2009 replacing the majority of the album’s intended tracklisting. (Artipot)

Last July, Elliott made headlines for being booted off stage during London’s annual Wireless Festival.

Missy Elliott was reportedly kicked off the stage at last weekend’s Wireless Festival after she exceeded her performance time slot. The rapper was said to have arrived 20 minutes late for her set at the gig in London’s Hyde Park but attempts to make up for her lateness with an extended performance were thwarted by the event’s organisers. Lloyd Banks Says Eminem “HFM2” Collabo Delivers 1-2 Punch Written by Rosario Harper

G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks is ecstatic over the bonus Hunger For More 2 Eminem feature, “Where I’m At”, believing it is one of the best songs he’s collaborated on with the Shady Records boss.

“Me and Em got a record, it’s called ‘Where I’m At,'” Banks revealed in an interview. “It’s crazy. Lyrically, it’s taking it to another place. I’ve had records with Em prior to this, or he’s been on my records and I’ve been on his album, this is a unique record. And it’s powerful. I think people are going to like it for a few different reasons because the subject matter is one thing and then the delivery. Just the fact of us going back and forth. It’s gonna be crazy — Em did his portion, he played it over the phone. He played me the verse over the phone, you really can’t risk sending things like that then anybody’ll have it.” (Rap-Up)

Last month, 50 Cent and Em pulled a prank on Banks claiming he allegedly said he did not want to do a feature with Slim Shady.

“Did you say something to somebody about you didn’t want him on the record,” 50 questioned Banks to which the rapper responded, “Why would I say that? To who?” “That’s what was being said from [Em’s manager] Paul [Rosenberg]. Man, this sh*t is getting crazy. I’m gonna be straight up with you, all right? I think this sh*t is getting a little funny between me, you and [Tony] Yayo and everything else that’s going on because look at how crazy it is actually getting him to rap on your record and I don’t understand what’s going on anymore. I don’t know, when I talked to Paul, Paul pulled me to the side and he’s talking to me like, ‘Yo, what’s going on. Why you don’t want Em? Are you kidding me? He’s the biggest rapper, you can’t get any bigger.” (This Is 50)

Yesterday, Banks released the tracklisting to his new album.

1 Take ‘Em To War featuring Tony Yayo 2. Unexplainable featuring Styles P 3. Payback featuring 50 Cent 4. Home Sweet Home featuring Pusha T 5. Beamer, Benz or Bentley featuring Juelz Santana 6. So Forgetful featuring Ryan Leslie 7. Father Time 8. Start It Up featuring Kanye West, Ryan Leslie, Swizz Beatz and Fabolous 9. Celebrity featuring Akon 10. On The Double 11. Any Girl 12. I Don’t Deserve You 13. Sooner Or Later featuring Raekwon (Hunger For More 2)

A few weeks ago, Banks talked about lining up Kanye West and Swizz Beatz on his “Start It Up” single.

“The whole Kanye thing happened, it was shortly after the tweetthat he wrote, the comment he made about me being underrated and should be in everybody’s top five,” Banks told MTV News over the phone Thursday. “We read that statement, and it kind of took off on its own. I definitely appreciated that. Just for him to say that opens up the eyes that have been watching him [to me]. And from there, it made sense to go into the studio with him. Shortly after that, we went into the studio…That was one of the last joints I recorded for my album. Originally it was me and Fab, then I got Kanye, then Swizz was in the city and so was Ryan [Leslie]. The difference from that track being me and Fab and having Kanye was 24 hours. I didn’t have it for a minute. We did it recently.” (MTV)

Hunger For More 2 is scheduled to drop Tuesday, November 23rd.

50 Cent Ends Silence On Chelsea Handler Date Written by Cyrus Langhorne

G-Unit leader 50 Cent has ended his silence on being caught having a secret date with late night talk show host Chelsea Handler earlier this month.

According to 50, their hook-up was strictly business-related.

Fiddy finally ‘fesses up to hooking up with Chelsea Handler! OK, well, not hooking up. During a break from shooting a music video with Bobby V, 50 Cent admits excluively to E! News that while he and the Chelsea Lately host did get together in New Orleans, romance did not play a part. “We were actually just talking about a film project,” the rapper reveals to E! News. “I think she’s amazing.” So amazing, apparently, that he didn’t just send her some flowers following her VMAs hosting gig, but a whole room full of ’em. Because, you know, that’s just what friends do. Anyway, whether they are dating or not, at least they’re doing a good job at keeping their stories straight. (E! Online)

Last week, Handler addressed being romantically linked to 50.

“I was with a bunch of friends in New Orleans, and he was one of the friends that was there. I was there for a show. Of course we were the only ones in the picture when there were 20 of us there. It made it look like there was something romantic happening…[We have] nothing romantic. Although I think he’s working on something. Every rapper who has been on the show is working on something with me. At some point I’m going to have to give in.” (Baltimore Sun)

Earlier this month, Handler briefly discussed their date on Twitter.

“Everyone, calm down. I met with mr. Cent about a potential project. There’s nothing to report yet, ill let you know if there is.,” Handler tweeted Wednesday (October 6). (Chelsea Handler’s Twitter)

A day prior, 50 Cent was questioned about his relationship with Handler by paparazzi.

With everyone talking about his new rumored romance, 50 Centtook refuge where everyone goes to avoid the spotlight — Mr. Chow in Bev Hills — and then dropped a huge clue about Chelsea Handler. As TMZ first reported, the two got reeeeeally up close and personal at a bar in New Orleans this weekend — but yesterday, when photogs asked about the hook-up, dude cracked a huge, mysterious smile. They’re totally together, right?? (TMZ)

Swizz Beatz, Cassidy Sued For $1.5 Million Over Hit 2007 Single

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop producer Swizz Beatz has been sued by a producer who claims he was cheated out of royalties for his work on Cassidy’s hit single “My Drink ‘N My 2 Step.”

In a lawsuit filed on October 18th, Antwann Frost claims that he helped created the drum and rhythmic pattern for Cassidy’s single, which has become a staple in clubs across the world.

Frost claims he created “all of the other original musical components that shaped and defined” “My Drink ‘N My 2 Step” in 2007, which spawned remixes by Kanye West, Chingy, Ne-Yo and others.

According to Frost, Swizz Beatz offered $5,000 and 5% of ownership of the song, according to

Antwann Frost is seeking $1,500,000 in damages.

EMINEM, RIHANNA RECONNECT FOR SECOND COLLAB reports hitmaker Alex Da Kid produced a new Eminem and Rihanna collaboration that will appear on the singer’s forthcoming album, Loud. The Slim Shady-assisted track will apparently serve as a continuation of their “Love the Way you Lie” duet. However, the publicist for the song’s producer refused to comment. We’ll keep you posted with further updates.

According to The Smoking Gun, legal documents have surfaced that suggest Eminem was horribly bullied in elementary school in Detroit.
